What beats Hustle?

Well, I did expect that I'd ruffle some feathers with that last post about hustle culture XD If you missed it, the idea is that working like mad for the sake of working like mad isn't enough. Or healthy. Or useful.
Focusing on Busy instead of Important isn't how you find real, lasting success.
I got some pushback, of course. Probably from some of you reading this. But I saw some interesting posts from other folks in my network, too.
One notable one went something like "What's most important to me? Building an empire and raising my daughter."
When you think about what's important, those are two great places to *start* - what you want to structure your life around.
Most people *stop* at that first answer. But that first one's not enough.
Your family is one of your most important things. What about them? What's the most important thing you can do to treat them right? To build love and trust? To give your kids what they need to find fulfillment? When you answer those questions, what's most important in how you realize *those* answers? What's most important *to* those other people in your life?
Your business is important, too! So what moves the needle? "Effort" isn't a useful answer. Effort towards what? What will build you a sustainable business that doesn't live and die by your willingness to hustle?
For just about all businesses, the answer to that starts with your people and your processes. When you want to enjoy the fruits of your labor, take a rest, or even fall short of what's needed, your business needs to keep running. But beyond the people who are helping you build that dream, what do *they* need to be putting first and foremost?
Maybe that's just building a lasting team so you can start to develop a core group of trusted employees or advisors.
Maybe that's making sales, closing contracts, and increasing your income so you can leverage that cash.
Maybe you're at a point where you've kept your head down too long, and now despite your rapidly growing income you're struggling to get by because your expenses spiraled out of control during that process. Maybe you need to plug the holes in your ship before you sink yourself.
I don't know what's most important to you, to your sense of fulfillment, or to the survival of your business. But I'd love for you to tell me.
