...who would that be?

You already know what I'm gonna say. And yeah, I'm biased, but hear me out.
Some of you might think first about a coach. Great! Coaches and mentors are critical to a lot of business success. But our experience has been that most coaches will talk all day about hustle and mindset, but either give no meaningful advice about the *financial health of your business* or give straight up wrong, bad, or even illegal suggestions to their clients.
How about a marketer? Another really good choice. But if your marketer promises you ads for dollars, how do you know you're not just throwing money at the internet? What you really need to understand about your marketing is how much return you get on your investment. Marketers rarely know or care what that return actually is, especially in the small business arena.
A VA? Ok, I'll concede this point. A VA can be a great investment in terms of giving you more time to do what you do best (and what actually makes you money), and they're often much less costly than hiring an employee.
But my recommendation is to start with a great bookkeeper. Even if you don't think you can afford one.
Here's why:
Great bookkeeping doesn't cost you money.
Great bookkeeping makes you money.
Great bookkeeping Makes You Money.
And that's because a great bookkeeper will help you understand the health of your business in a way that almost anyone else you could pick can't or won't. Knowing your situation will help you make better choices about where to focus your efforts, who to hire *next* for the most bang for your buck, and to make sure that those folks are actually having a *positive impact* on your business.
And fresh on the heels of my last post, remember that a data entry tech (soon to be replaced by AI) is not a Great Bookkeeper in this context. You need numbers that reflect your business and your goals, not numbers that will do nothing but make your tax pro's life easier. Work with someone with the tools to help you grow smartly so that you always know you're on track. Hustling in the wrong direction won't help you work your way out of hustling.
